Read the land.
Find fibres, timber and stone. Follow the local geology, dig into soil and mine the rock beneath it.
A world worth beginning again.
Start with empty hands and a journal of practical knowledge. Turn stone, soil and fire into the beginnings of a new life.
Explore the free pre-alpha01 / After the silence
Your journey begins outdoors in Africa with empty hands and practical knowledge in your journal. The landscape is unfamiliar, indifferent, full of possibility. Find freshwater, make shelter and choose where to build.
Diod is about learning to live here. Weave your first bag. Shape a tool. Build a fire. Every small discovery makes the next one possible.
Find fibres, timber and stone. Follow the local geology, dig into soil and mine the rock beneath it.
Craft tools, a bag and camp equipment. Mine iron ore, smelt ingots and sell your goods through the Market tab.
Excavate the ground, lay free bridges and roads, and craft shelters, chests and furnaces to place at your campsite.

02 / Your starting world
Explore an original African starting region. Gather supplies, build a homestead and shape the ground, including submerged rock and soil. Explore the connected globe in first person, on foot or in a craftable wooden rowing boat. Nearby terrain and water stream as you travel; your structures and supplies stay where you left them.
The current build focuses on Gathering & Mining: a clear level 1–10 roadmap, resource-based crafting and market trading. Hire miners through the Market tab, supply their camps and choose whether to store or sell their output. Weather moves across the visible island; animals will return in a later update.
03 / Join the beginning
Diod is free during pre-alpha.
Expect rough edges, evolving visuals and unfinished systems. Play, explore, and help shape what comes next.

This is an early playable prototype. Crafting, free digging, slot-based storage, iron smelting and coin trading are playable. Place bridges and roads freely; craft other structures and equipment from gathered resources. Hired miners need daily wages, food, water and a bed. Craft a wooden rowing boat and explore the connected globe in first person. Nearby terrain streams as you travel; the atlas shows the world without loading distant scenery. The large travel ship remains moored. Animals and later eras remain future work. Visuals, performance and balance are still changing.
See the Updates page for what changed in each version. For now, updates are manual: close the game, download the new release and replace the application. Version 51 requires a fresh African journey. Earlier regional saves are retained separately and are not migrated. Version 52 continues your version 51 journey, including terrain and structures. Startup and complex excavation can still take time; visuals and water remain in development. Saves live outside the application.
Formal minimum requirements are still being tested. For a testing laptop, choose Low — Laptop in the in-game graphics settings. Platform-specific requirements and signing details will accompany each tested download.
The intended pre-alpha download runs locally without a game account. Your world and progress are saved on the computer where you play.
